General Information
Description of ServiceSubstance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Agency (SAPTA) provides funding and regulatory oversight for community-based organizations, both public and nonprofit, that provide substance abuse prevention and treatment services in Southern Nevada. SAPTA is a program of State of Nevada Division of Mental Health & Developmental Services (MHDS).

SAPTA Objectives:
  • Statewide formulation and implementation of a state plan for prevention, intervention, treatment, and recovery of substance abuse.
  • Statewide coordination and implementation of state and federal funding for alcohol and drug abuse programs.
  • Statewide development and publication of standards for certification and the authority to certify treatment levels of care and prevention programs.
